The “ILUCIDARE Playground, un espacio de re-creación del patrimonio cultural” (A place for the re-creation of cultural heritage), is a one-day event to be held in Cuenca, Ecuador on Friday November 19, 2021 from 09:30am (UTC-05:00).
As in previous occasions, the Playground has constituted a ground-breaking space for dialogue and, in this occasion, we will take the opportunity of being in Ecuador to discuss about the new ways of imagining heritage (re-creation) through capacity building initiatives. One of the main roles of Universidad de Cuenca -as the local ILUCIDARE partner in Ecuador- has been indeed the building of capacity for local communities in urban and rural areas in relation to their heritage and is therefore crucial to display it into a larger scope.
This is event is foreseen as an opportunity for knowledge exchange and enlarging of networking possibilities among the participants. The latter include the members of the "living laboratories" or study areas of Susudel and El Vado, as well as experts involved in capacity building initiatives at national and international level as a source of inspiration for heritage-led innovation and international relations. Members of the international ILUCIDARE consortium as well as local and national authorities will also be present and they are expected to actively participate during the so-called "horizontal dialogues", an activity in order to promote discussion, networking, international exchanges and innovation, through direct interaction between experts, authorities, academics, members of local and national institutions and citizens committed to heritage protection around a common table.
